Description

This Bookkeeping Manual and Computerised module empowers you to manage your business finances with confidence. Spread conveniently over evenings, this course equips you with a comprehensive understanding of how to record and maintain accurate financial records, using both traditional manual methods and modern computerised systems.

We'll begin by delving into the core terminology associated with bookkeeping, ensuring you understand the essential terms used in recording and analysing financial transactions. Throughout the course, you'll gain hands-on experience with both manual and computerised bookkeeping systems. We'll explore the advantages and disadvantages of each system, allowing you to make informed decisions about the best approach for your business needs.

You'll develop practical skills in completing the books of first entry, including invoices, credit notes, bank statements, and petty cash vouchers. We'll guide you through the process of posting transactions to the appropriate accounts in the general ledger, ensuring accurate record-keeping. As you progress, you'll learn to extract a trial balance, a key step in ensuring the financial health of your business.

The latter part of the course delves into computerised accounting. You'll master essential tasks like bank reconciliations and VAT return preparation, using industry-standard accounting software. By working on real-world scenarios, you'll gain the confidence to process data electronically, analyse results, and identify and correct any errors that may arise.

Finally, you'll explore the benefits of backing up your data and printing essential reports, ensuring the security and accessibility of your financial information.

By the end of this module, you'll be well-equipped to handle your business bookkeeping needs, using both manual and computerised systems, empowering you to make informed financial decisions for your business success.
